Zesty Summertime

I'm sure it's just as warm where you are as it is here in the North-West as I write this, isn't it wonderful? The sun continues to shine through the summer, putting a smile on our face and encouraging us to sit outside and bask in the sun with our cotton crochet on our laps.

To start with, why not make Natalia McHayle's stylish Ada Lace Top, even the larger size needs only 5 balls of super soft King Cole bamboo-cotton-blend yarn! Or how about the statement Segment Shawl in 100% DMC Natura cotton, a perfect accessory to keep away the evening chill when sitting outside with friends on a summer evening?

Have a bit of fun with Harry the Holiday Shark and some tasty Watermelon Bunting, and don't miss our usual collection of amazing blankets to crochet, my favourite this month has to be the Citrus Squares Blanket by Kathryn Pope, I just love how it combines a classic blanket style with pops of lemony colour.

Here at Crochet Now we believe that black lives matter, and we are committed to representing as diverse a pool of models, designers, and makers within our pages. We want to be able to do more however, so be sure to turn to get in touch if you want to contribute or know a designer we should feature in the mag, and catch-up with Sarah-Jayne's work to increase her Crochet Society designer diversity. Finally, as the high streets open up again turn to page 80 to find out how you can support your local yarn shops and nab yourself a pair of free KnitPro hooks too!

Happy crocheting!

Issue 58 is available to buy from your local supermarket and newsagent from Thursday 23rd July 2020 but if you can't wait, order your copy online, grab yours from Craftstash, or why not treat yourself to a subscription and never miss an issue again!
