When studying art at school, my favourite artists and themes were always those bold colours and striking prints used by the likes of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and others from the Pop Art movement of the late 1950s. The unapologetic use of colour, even in pieces meant to evoke emotion from joy to sorrow, was amazing to me, and undoubtedly spurred my love of bold prints and comic books to this day. As a perk of being the Editor of Crochet Now, I can use this love to influence an issue's collection, partly because I personally love the style, and partly because bright and bold art such as this is a perfect fit for crochet!

One of the stars of the (art) show this month is Lindy Zubairy's Pop Art Blanket which has been directly influenced by those iconic Lichtenstein prints. It uses Tunisian crochet and super-chunky yarn to great effect, and if Tunisian crochet is still new to you, be sure to check out Bella Coco's masterclass to get started.

Another stand-out piece for the home is Jo Janes's POP! Cushion that uses crisp C2C and cotton yarn to great effect. We have plenty of accessories for you too, from the trendy Beatriz Shawl, to the Diamonds are Forever Scarf, and toys to make you smile! I dare you not to fall in love with Fernando the Frog, with his cute little raincoat and umbrella.

I hope you love your new crochet tools too, your new tin and stitch markers are perfect for keeping your place, seaming your garments (like the Blossom Sweater) and letting people know that they need to let you count in peace!
