What's your shop called? Is there a story behind the name?

The shop is called Mary Joy Community Crafts Outlet Ltd. It's named this as we used the names of mine and my partner's mothers as they were both very crafty people during there lives.

Where is your shop and what is the neighbourhood like?

The shop is in the Indoor Market, Grosvenor Centre in Macclesfield. It's a lovely little town and always seems to have something going on.

Who works at your shop?

I am the Director and Owner of the shop and man it daily.

What makes your shop special?

Our shop is special as we cater to the needs of the community and can get hold of a lot of the unusual things we get asked for from a wool & haberdashery shop.

What are your most popular yarns?

James C Brett, Stylecraft, King Cole Riot and W.I Cottons.

Do you have a knitting group? When do they meet?

We have a knitting, crochet and sewing craft group that runs in our sister shop named Mary Joy Community Crafts which is just opposite. It runs daily, except Wednesdays, and is a very busy little craft group/shop. The things we make we also sell there to the public.

What's your favourite piece of knitting advice?

Always check the amount of wool you need for your project and always check you have the correct dye lots you need.
