Can you believe that it’s that time of year again? The weather is getting cooler, the nights longer, and there is just a slight sound of jingle bells on the air. Every year here at Crochet Now, we wish we started prepping our Christmas crochet earlier, but we don’t seem to manage to – not this year! This year, we’ve already planned our gifts, started crocheting some decorations, and we’re making sure everyone else gets into the festive spirit right along with us with our BIGGEST ISSUE EVER that is simply bursting at the seams with Christmas delights!
This month we have 108 pages of Christmas patterns and festive inspiration, and you can start right away with your exclusive Sooty crochet kit – Sachiyo Ishii’s charming design captures his sprit perfectly (Santa’s hat and all!). If toys aren’t your cup of eggnog, why not use your yarn to make the Norwegian Wrist Warmers instead?
We have something for everyone inside this issue, from a sparkly festive Christmas blanket, to a classic elf toy, a stylish jumper design , and charming winter accessories throughout. Plus, we welcome back Sarah-Jayne of Bella Coco crochet with her crochet masterclass, and we’re meeting some amazing crochet bloggers and designers this month, including Vincent from Knot Bad Ami and the charming Ashlee Elle of The Dream Crochet Blog.
A personal favourite project this month has to be our very own Deputy Editor Liam’s fabulous gadget case – writing to Santa is a very fun and special family tradition and to capture that in crochet is a delight.
Plus don’t miss the announcement of the shortlisted winners for the Rowan Design Comepetition – we want to know which of the designs are you favourite, and everyone who votes will be in with a chance to win a Rowan yarn bundle!
Hello, I’ve just bought your mag for the first time and having a go at Sooty. I’m fairly new to crochet but have done quite a few things.
In the pattern there is a special abbreviation which I don’t t understand. Pul. Can you tell me what this means please.
Love the mag by the way.
Many thanks
Hi Irene
Pul is ‘pull up loop’ which is in our standard abbreviations 🙂
Thank you for your kind words and I hope you were able to crochet Sooty successfully!
Jenny
