Deramores 4 Seasons crochet-along has taken the crochet community by storm since its launch last month.

How did you choose your season?

We were quite lucky and all picked our favourite seasons, there was no fighting for a certain one! Personally, I was inspired by all the spring flowers when picking colours for my squares, tulips, daffodils and all the greens to complement them.

"Working with other designers of such a high calibre was something that really appealed to me."

How did you get involved?

Arran Roberts (Marketing Manager at Deramores) planted the seed of inspiration in the designers heads, we kind of ran away with the idea and the CAL was born! I have never done a CAL before, but I knew they can be a lot of fun, and working with other designers of such a high calibre was something that really appealed to me.

How did you all work together?

We had a couple of brainstorming sessions before we started, mainly discussing the layout of the blanket and picking colours for each of the seasons. We also kept in touch throughout the whole process, posting progress pictures and generally talking yarn! It was really great working with them.

"This is definitely one of the most colourful designs I have done!"

What did you enjoy most about the project?

I loved working with all the different colours and using variety of crochet stitches. This is definitely one of the most colourful designs I have done. It did find it tough to keep within the agreed size and stitch count. I could easily have kept going and ended up with a giant square!

What feedback have you had so far?

It has been received really well! People have been posting a lot of progress photos on Deramores' Facebook group, asking for help and advice and chatting in general. Some crocheters literally finished the week's clue in a matter of hours and could not wait until the next one! I can't wait to see everyone's finished blankets, they are going to be amazing!

Can you name one thing you like about another contributor's design?

That is impossible! Have you seen the other squares?!
