Official Wallace & Gromit crochet patterns

Crochet your own Wallace & Gromit

We are so very excited this month to bring you guys a pair of exclusive crochet patterns to make your very own cheese-and-cracker-loving duo, Wallace & Gromit! You can find the patterns to make both of them tonight inside issue 36 which goes on sale Thursday 20th December.

These patterns were designed for us by one of our favourite amigurumi designers, Alison Holloway (petalscraftsandme), using Patons Fab DK and they can even be made using your brand-new official Wallace & Gromit crochet hooks – exclusively yours with issue 36 of the magazine!

These soft-handled crochet hooks come in bright colours, with Wallace appearing on the 5mm hook, and Gromit appearing on the handle of the 4mm hook, which you can use to crochet the pair themselves using the pattern inside your magazine! Both Wallace & Gromit are crocheted using the 4mm hook, so there’s no reason you can’t start right away.

In fast, you can get your hands on a Wallace & Gromit yarn pack right now from our friends at Deramores! You met the new members of the team last week, and now we are delighted to announce that you can shop for yarn packs for some of our patterns directly with Deramores in our new magazine shop! Just look out in your magazine for Available at www.deramores.com/collections/crochetnow and you can purchase complete packs!

Don’t miss your chance to crochet Wallace & Gromit, and to grab yourself a pair of official crochet hooks, with Crochet Now magazine – find them all, along with your new favourite patterns, all the up-to-date crochet news, and hints and tips from designers, inside issue 36 – on sale in all good newsagents, supermarkets, craft stores, WHSmiths, and online from Thursday 20th December.

  1. **Update: an earlier version of this article stated that Wallace and Gromit were printed directly onto the handles of the crochet hooks which isn’t accurate to the printing process of these hooks. This has now been updated.

  2. hello, im having problems with row 4 of Gromits head. I only count 20 sts. please help?

    • Hi Shelly
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you!

Make sure that you are repeating the instructions in the [ ] repeat brackets three times (not the first 4 dc), and then you repeat the whole instruction once more (rep from * which is at the start of the line)

The easiest way to show how the stitches fit is if I list them below – I hope this is ok!
      Work 4 dc
      2 dc in next st
      2 dc in next st
      2 dc in next st
      4 dc
      2 dc in next st
      2 dc in next st
      2 dc in next st
This should give a total of 24 sts 🙂
Rnd 3 is written out in a similar so it would be best to double check this too.
      I hope this will help!

  3. I’ve only just read about the Wallace and Gromit edition, only to find it’s sold out. Is there any way I can get a copy, or the patterns? I knitted my son a gromit jumper which he wore till it almost fell apart. He’s 28 now and has recently started to sew, has taken up knitting again (I taught him when he was 6) and is thinking of trying crochet. I’d love to surprise him with these figures.

I’m having problems with gromits feet, especially rnd 5 I can’t seem to get the count right but the rounds before are correct. Any suggestions?
