Folksy & Festive

It's that time of year again when we crafters start to get our thinking caps on and start that all important festive planning! I personally do everything I can to welcome Christmas into my days all year round, whether it's planning the Christmas issues as early as the beginning of Summer, or simply popping on a festive film whenever I fancy it!

For some though, perhaps September is still a little too early for the sounds of jingle bells, so don't you worry, I've done everything I can to bring you a balanced issue of just enough Christmas projects to get you in the mood, but plenty of seasonal and autumnal makes to keep you busy and crocheting for the weekend too!

Start with our fabulous cover garment from Cassie Ward which features a gentle zig zag pattern and boxy shape for a flattering fit no matter what! Then why not hook up some designer accessories, from the Lacy Blossom Shawl to the Sweet Sighs Shawl. For a quick, satisfying make for you and your home, check out Marjan Gouda's Lovely Hasty Home set that will work up in no time, and uses a yarn with a fantastic shade range so you can be sure to find something to fit!

I am so excited to share this month's exclusive character design with you! Emma Wilkinson has absolutely knocked it out of the park with her amazing Bagpuss blanket. She's used intarsia crochet to really capture that nostalgic, watching and old TV feel that I simply adore, and I am sure you will to. Finally, be sure to check out our brand-new toy CAL from the talented Beardie and Blondie, we plan to bring you all of the signs of the Zodiac over the next year, including the new addition in a few months time.

UK readers are in for a treat with this fabulous soft-grip hook set - don't you just love the colours of those handles?! The 3mm, 3.5mm and 4mm hook are perfect for a range of projects in your magazine.
