Enter today for your chance to win a kit for the Official Scheepjes CAL 2020 d’Histoire Naturelle!

We’ve teamed up with the lovely folk at Scheepjes to give one lucky winner all the yarn they need to crochet the Official Scheepjes CAL 2020 d’Histoire Naturelle, plus a bonus skein of Scheepjes Whirligig, worth a total of over £100! Find out more about the CAL and download pattern sections here.

Scheepjes’ very special CAL and Read-A-Long for 2020 is finally here and they cannot wait to embark on this wonderful journey with you! As participants join in from all over the world, be whisked away to Paris, France, as you crochet your way through the many galleries within the astounding Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle (Museum of Natural History), all the while reading Anthony Doerr’s best-selling novel All the Light We Cannot See: the inspiration behind this incredible design.

Designed by the supremely talented Christina Hadderingh of A Spoonful of Yarn, you can enter today for your chance to win the Herbarium colour way (shown above), and Scheepjes have kindly thrown in a bonus skein of their luxurious Whirligig, a delectable giant yarn cake of luxurious DK comprised of Alpaca and Virgin wool, perfect for luxury crochet projects.

Ready-made kits for the CAL are available to buy from Scheepjes retailers now, and 4 colourways are available in Colour Crafter or Stone Washed & River Washed so there is something to suit all budgets! Accompanying this pattern will be video tutorials for both left and right-handed crocheters, provided by Scheepjes Blogger Esther of It’s All in a Nutshell blog, as well as detailed photo tutorials shared by the designer throughout. Thanks to these wonderful support materials, the Blanket d’Histoire Naturelle is suitable for adventurous beginners and advanced crocheters alike!

READ-A-LONG

The design of the Blanket d’Histoire Naturelle was directly inspired by the evocative descriptions of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle found inside author Anthony Doerr’s award-winning novel All the Light We Cannot See. So, it’s only fitting that they combine the annual Crochet-A-Long with a Read-A-Long of the book that made it happen! Whether you read the book or choose to listen to the audio book, this will add an extra dimension to this CAL. If you are not an avid reader, no problem, you can stay and simply Crochet-A-Long!
